The Opportunity
Whizz is entering its 5th year of operations. We have established a strong presence in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, DC, Chicago, and San Francisco. Our goal for 2026 is to scale these existing markets while launching Toronto and 2 to 4 additional North American cities. We are looking for a CMO who can find new growth opportunities while maintaining positive profitability and healthy unit economics.
Core Responsibilities
This is a leadership role that requires a high degree of personal execution. You will manage a team of 5+ (Design, Content, Ads, Project Management, Product Marketing) while personally leading:
- Performance Marketing: Scale our annual spend from $500k to $1M. You will be responsible for auditing ad accounts (Meta, Google, TikTok) and maintaining a reasonable CAC.
- Business Development: Act as the primary point of contact for our major partners like DoorDash and Grubhub. You will lead meetings to expand current partnerships and launch new ones.
- Hands-on Strategy: Personally handle market research, customer interviews, SEO strategy, and high-level data analytics.
- Multicultural Outreach: Whizz serves a highly diverse audience, from Arabic speakers from Egypt to Francophones from Africa. You will develop marketing strategies that resonate with these various communities within the North American market.
- Product Launch: Lead the go-to-market strategy for our new e-bike models and battery-swapping infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience: 7+ years in B2C marketing within a startup environment.
- Communication: C1+ English proficiency. You must be able to lead high-level business development negotiations and oversee brand communication.
- Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Google, Meta, and TikTok Ads. Proven ability to personally audit and optimize accounts.
- Market Knowledge: Experience in the North American market is a plus.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to balance aggressive growth with profitability. You should be comfortable pivoting strategies based on regulatory changes and consumer behavior.
